Okay, I have the inevitable question about crossovers.
Say we came up with a reasonable plot to explain a mess with the space-time continuum. Is it acceptable to create threads where characters from one series arrive in the time period of another?
Obviously, the events of the role-play take place, then something occurs to close the time loop and everyone goes home. Whiz, bang, whatever. All good fun with the Temporal Prime Directive.
I think it's an important question to ask, especially since we're still filling out the crew rosters.
I figure time travel threads would have to go in 'Other', maybe? I don't know. I'm wondering whether it's permitted at all.
I don't have any ideas or plans about this at the moment, I'm just curious.
If this is a crazy nonsensical rant, I blame my flu. -Clutches her excuse blanket.-

No, it's not nonsensical, ha ha. It sounds rather intriguing to me, actually. I wouldn't have any problem with it.

I think that sounds like a great idea. My favorite episodes always involved something to do with time travel or an alternate universe type thing.

Actually, I had an idea. (It's kinda dumb/crazy, but hear me out?)
What if, say, two eras (or, uh, series in the franchise) met, either by one going back in time or the other going forward in time? Of course, insanity would ensue (ahaaaa) but it could be interesting.
Just a thought. :3

Hm. I rather like that idea. Of course, it would require some careful preliminary planning to make it, well, original and ensure that it wouldn't hit some unalterable snag, but I think we should try it.

That's pure brilliance! Christine, you rock hardcore.
So, now we just need to do that "careful preliminary planning" stuff Mae mentioned, huh? XD
Edit: Okay, so I've been talking it over with my collection of singing potatoes.
What about a temporal anomaly, existing for some reason in two different parts of the galaxy?
It's undetectable to sensors at first (as always) but it takes about a week to navigate. So, while both crews are unaware of crossing more than normal space, this temporal flux ribbon whips through -- picking up random people and dumping them on the other side of time.
That way, both crews could visit both eras. We could create so many paradoxes, and then negate them when both ships leave the area. Never mind that the ship in the past already left the area. Temporal anomalies have a long memory I guess.
Don't even ask me why the anomaly interprets the two ships as interchangeable. Maybe it's being controlled by an incorporeal sentient being who thinks one ship of mostly-human explorers is as good as another. XD
... I'm not very original. You'll all probably have more inspired ideas.
Ugh. I didn't even TRY to come up with something that made sense, and I have a temporal mechanics headache anyway.

Of course, of course, it'd take a lot of planning. But, once all the little details and such get worked out, all the "preliminary" things, I think it could work. I've written out a few scenarios or whatnot (99.9% of them make no sense scientifically or otherwise xD) but perhaps if we pool our ideas together we can come up with something...?
I think your little scenario could actually work quite nicely, Seven of Nine. I don't know; I liked it. :3

I'm sure your ideas would be better. XD Do you feel up to sharing those scenarios?
I like this 'put our heads together and there's nothing we can't achieve' initiative. Making sense can't possibly be as important as the illusion of making sense. I'm trying to think about what constitutes an unalterable snag. Now I'm reminded of that episode of Futurama where Fry becomes his own grandpa.
Yikes, I'm no help at all. I'm not very Borg-like out of character.
